5 Reasons to Love Boston

There are roughly 1,000,000 reasons to love the historic city of Boston, but that would be a very long blog. So, in order to keep things simple and readable, we’ve narrowed the list to our top five reasons to love the city. Take a look at what we think makes Boston so wonderful.

The History

There’s no question about it; Boston is one of the most historic towns in America. From the very start of settlement, Boston became a trade hub and a center for activity. As America grew and evolved, Boston was at the forefront. From “No Taxation without Representation” to The Boston Tea Party, our residents were never going to back what they felt was right. During the Revolution, Boston acted as a command center and was able to expel the British from the city. Later, Massachusetts became the first state to abolish slavery. The history continues with the flourishing industry, growing shopping centers, unmatched higher education, and much more. If you’re a history buff Boston is definitely the place for you. You can take a tour of the Freedom Trail, a tourism trail you to the most historic places in Boston.

The Local Stores

One of the best things about Boston is how easy it is to support local businesses. Everywhere you look you can find a coffee shop, bakery, art gallery, or clothing store that is family-owned and one-of-a-kind. Some of the most delicious meals Boston has to offer are only found at one of these off-the-grid shops known and loved by locals. Art flourishes in Boston so if you need a photo, painting, or sculpture for your house, stop by one of the countless galleries and boutiques. Support local artisans and get handcrafted, high-quality pieces. Stop in at a local eatery and get the most delicious meal you’ve ever eaten. Come to Boston and see what the small business world has to offer for you.

The Sports

Surprise! Boston is home to some of the most popular sports teams. The Boston Red Sox are the most well-known team in the city, raking up win after win every baseball season. For most people, the word “Boston” immediately evokes the Red Sox, even if they aren’t involved with sports. Let’s not forget the other amazing teams from Boston! In basketball, we have the Celtics, and in hockey, we have the Bruins. Both teams are amazing in their respective sports, and Bostonians are typically ferociously loyal to their teams. Luckily for us, it isn’t hard to love them because they’re always winning!

The True New England Experience

In New England, it is easy to forget that many people don’t experience the true four seasons. Boston is lucky enough to have distinctive seasons, all of which are equally beautiful. Enjoy fresh seafood in the summer, walk through the Boston Common when it is a winter wonderland, enjoy the blooming flowers in parks and window boxes during the spring, and watch the leaves change colors during the fall. There is no better place to visit than Boston for the true New England experience. In addition to the seasonal changes, Boston also has many New England staples including an interesting accent that you simply won’t find anywhere else. We also have Whoopie Pies, bubblahs, lobstah rolls, and clam chowder. All of your favorites in one beautiful city.

The Camaraderie

Boston is known to be a city where everyone knows everyone. People are friendly, any local shop will welcome you with open arms, and everyone bands together when we need to. As we said, fans are fiercely loyal to our sports teams and will put differences aside to talk about the last game. We also have the Boston Marathon where athletes from all over the world can experience Boston. The streets are always packed with residents who look forward to the event every year. After the tragedy in 2013, Boston rallied together to support the victims and families. Boston Strong instantly became a way of life, and everyone helped however they could. All differences were put aside and people found connection through Boston - their home and the beloved city. You will be hard-pressed to find a city with more camaraderie than Boston. Through the highs and lows, our residents stick together and make things work.
