Copley House is set in the heart of the affluent Back Bay neighborhood in downtown Boston. The area is a hub of culture, commerce, and history, with design boutiques, quaint cafes, art galleries, and oh – some of the best dessert spots in the city within walking distance.

Here are five top dessert spots you don't want to miss when your sweet tooth calls.

  1. Georgetown Cupcake

One of the best dessert spots on Newbury Street, Georgetown Cupcake has some of the tastiest treats in the city. If you're in the mood for peanut butter, you'll be in heaven: our recommendation is the peanut butter fudge cupcake, which is, in a word, divine. Gluten Free? Don’t fret! Georgetown has a few varieties of gluten free cupcakes as well! These cupcakes are the highlight of any visit; the red velvet, salted caramel, and chocolate birthday will have you wondering which is the best you've ever had.

  1. Flour Bakery + Café

Flour is one of the best bakeries in Boston and has delicious everything. From the breakfast sandwiches to the roast beef and beyond, but today we're talking desserts, and that's how Flour made its name. It's hard to say what you should try first. Maybe it's the old-style apple cake, no – the dreamy cream-filled donuts, no – it has to be the homemade pop tarts they make on Sunday mornings. Heck – try them all; everything is delicious.

  1. FoMu

Talk about a Boston mainstay, the ice cream at FoMu is otherworldly, and has earned its reputation for being one of the best vegan-friendly ice cream spots in Boston. Whether you stop by for their ice cream or baked goods, you can rest assured that all of their products start with premium, natural, plant-based, kosher ingredients. That means peeling fresh bananas for their Banoffee Pie, pitting fresh avocados for their Avocado ice cream, and juicing fresh ginger for their famous Dark & Stormy. FoMu has something for just about everyone – regardless of allergy or dietary preferences.

  1. L.A. Burdick Chocolate

Only a hop and a skip away from Flour Bakery and Café on Clarendon Street is L.A. Burdick Chocolate, which is arguably the best chocolate spot in the country. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, hot chocolate…chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Everything in this artisanal chocolate spot is sure to hit your sweet spot. The coffee here is said to be among the best brews in town, but the real highlight is the coconut chocolate cake, which is often praised as the single best dessert in the whole city.

  1. Emack & Bolio’s

Another Newbury Street showstopper is Emack & Bolio’s ice cream shop, which is hands down one of the most exquisite creameries in Boston. With dozens of delicious flavors made in-house, you'll be spoiled for choice. The fudge is delicious, the sorbet is sublime, and of course, the ice cream is on another level. Our recommendation has got to be either the Bean Town Buzz or the passion fruit sorbet, both of which are oh so tasty and tantalizing.

No matter what you’re in the mood for, you can find it all within walking distance of Copley House, so be sure to try them all on your next visit to Back Bay.
